Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization (EOCCO) had contracted with OPIP to conduct trainings meant to enhance the ability of primary-care based integrated behavioral health to provide brief interventions for young children birth to five and then to provide on-site training to primary care providers whose integrated behavioral health have been trained. The contract has 2 phases: first, building integrated behavioral health clinician expertise and skills, and second, supporting primary care providers to identify young children and families for services. The training content in both phases aligns with the Young Children Receiving Social-Emotional Issue-Focused Interventions Coordinated Care Organization quality metric.
Phase 1 2026-2027: Free Learning Curriculum for Behavioral Health Clinicians Working with Young Children in Primary Care Settings.
This free training is for primary care-based integrated behavioral health clinicians whose practices contract with EOCCO.
The opportunity consists of 1 in-person training in late fall 2026, and at least 4 topic focused webinars in 2027. Curriculum will include practical, evidence-based clinical tools and strategies, and will enhance clinicians’ ability to conduct brief interventions that target social-emotional health for young children. Trainings will be developed in collaboration with Andrew Riley, PhD, a national expert in pediatric integrated behavioral health.

Part 1: In-Person Learning Session, Late Fall 2026
- One in-person learning session will be offered in late fall 2026. The date and location will be determined based on responses to the registration survey. Training Date Options are: Nov 18th , Dec 3rd or Dec 4th
Part 2: Interactive Webinar Series
- In 2027 OPIP will host four interactive webinars focused on common behavioral concerns and practical brief intervention strategies. Topics will be determined by participant priorities indicated in the registration survey.
Phase 2: Free Learning Curriculum for Primary Care Providers, Practice-Based Training and Implementation Support (2027-2028)
- Phase 2 focuses on supporting primary care practices in the implementation of social-emotional health services and referral pathways through on-site practice training for two primary care practices. OPIP will prioritize training sites who have had at least 80% of their integrated behavioral health providers attend the in-person regional trainings and webinar learning series and serve a high number of EOCCO children ages 1-5.99.
